BioIt is my intention for this journal to relate the life of me. My life is Zen Buddhism. I'm not very good at it. Although that is my pratice. (A Zen Story to Illustrate):
A novice monk said to his master 'I fell down'. The master replied 'Well get up'. Later, the novice returned 'I fell down again', the master replied 'well get up again'. The novice again returned and said 'I fell down again, what should i do?!'. The master remained silent for a moment and then said 'Whenever you fall down, get up'.
My practice is falling down and getting up, and that is what my journal will document.
Apologies in advance if my journal seems 'preachey'. That is something for which I offer no apology; this is afterall a diary to record my practice, it may or may not be of interest or use to anyone. Take what I say with a pinch of salt, I am afterall only a beginner. Feel free to comment on and question my (or your) views, it is through questioning that we develop as people. If anyone is made happier by reading my journal then it has served some kind of purpose.

Buddhist get up time - 7am
Samsara - the cycle of rebirth and sufffering, the unenlightened state
Three Fires - Ignorance/Delusion, Greed/Desire, Hatred/Anger = the 'poisons' that keep us in samsara and cloud the inherent enlightened mind - ultimately through the first 'Ignorance' the belief of a self' - 'I', 'Me' and 'Mine' leads to desire and anger.
Zazen - seated meditation - in my case counting the breath
If anyone has better definitions for any of these, please let me know!
